DIY Holiday Gift, Natural All-Purpose Cleaner

This might sound weird but just hear me out. A few years ago I gave homemade All-Purpose Cleaner as a holiday gift. I’m not kidding. I saw it on Pinterest and for whatever reason thought it was a brilliant idea. Guess what? It was a HUGE massive success. Not only did the cost per gift stay at a low number but everyone was really into them. What’s not to be into? They are all natural, make your home smell lovely and can be made in less than 5 minutes. These are the ideal present to gift when you have a long list of people to buy for like colleagues, neighbors, teachers or friends because the cost per person is really reasonable.

Here’s how I did it…I bought a bunch of brightly colored spray bottles in the garden section of the store for around $2.00 a piece (can also be found in the beauty section with the travel stuff but they are usually more expensive) along with a gallon of white vinegar for another few dollars. The essential oils are available online at places like Vitacost or Amazon but I’m sure you can find them at your local health & wellness store too. There is no need to get more than a 4 oz bottle of each oil because you use so little of it, it will last forever. Depending on how many you plan to make mix together a large container of 2 parts water to 1 part vinegar, you want enough liquid to fill the bottles you are using. Add a scant 1/4 teaspoon of each essential oil to the spray bottle and fill the rest with your water and vinegar mixture. Add a cute tag and include the recipe for the cleaner on the back. So easy, right?!

And since I know you will have essential oils leftover (because I did and I made more than 20 bottles!) below are a few links of ways to use essential oils you might find interesting. I am definitely using the lavender oil on the bottoms of my feet for bed tonight.
