In a season full of sweet treats, comfort food and lots of boozy holiday toasts I am devoted to doing at least one good thing for my body to stay healthy and full of energy, and that is drinking plenty of water. It sounds simple, and there’s no doubt you’ve heard this advice at least 100 times in your life but how often do you actually get the amount you should? I try really hard and fail all the time…even with making good effort. I’ve been reading more about just how beneficial drinking the right amount of water can be and thought it made sense to share a few things I’ve learned in case any of you are trying to eat clean this week to recover from Thanksgiving madness. Hope you find this as interesting and motivational as I did. Cheers!
How much water should you drink on a daily basis?
The quick way to figure this out is to multiply your weight by 2/3. The answer is the amount of ounces you should drink daily, with shifts made to accommodate your activity level.
What are the benefits of drinking my water every day?
-Keeps your temperature normal
-Lubricates and cushion joints
-Protects your spinal cord and other sensitive tissues
-…and the vanity card, but honestly a pretty great selling point, drinking plenty of water keeps your skin nice and hydrated, which means it’s plump and healthy looking which reduces the sign of wrinkles. Check out THIS before and after picture if you want a visual and to read more.
What if drinking that much water is hard for me? What if I don’t like drinking water?
There isn’t a better way to get going on your quest to hydration than to start with some delicious flavored waters to stay interested and help you reach your daily intake goal. Three flavors I recently tried and loved are listed below. Give them a shot and happy healthy drinking!
Grapefruit + Rosemary…bright, acidic, clean tasting
Apple + Cinnamon…lovingly known as spa water, slightly sweet, comforting
Blackberry + Sage…woodsy, deep flavors, the most beautiful of the three
That’s a great reminder. I love the way you used the chalkboard for the photos. It really drew me in. Thanks-Valerie
