I found it. I found my happy place. Well, one of them (there are a lot). Shed, located in downtown Healdsburg in the heart of Sonoma wine country, is a place designed to make me happy every which way I turn. It will probably do the same for you if you like pretty things and fresh food. Look one direction and you see beautiful trinkets and foodie goodies like sea salt, chocolates, oils and flowers. Another way and you have exquisitely crafted kitchen supplies and linens (swoon!). They also have a small area of locally grown produce and a mill where they grind grains grown in nearby fields. And if in all of your excitement you find yourself worn out and in need of replenishment, have no fear, a Fermentation Bar with Sonoma’s best wines and specialty Shrubs (drinking vinegar based drinks mixed with fresh herbs and fruit), a coffe bar and a cafe serving seasonal menus as fresh as they can get. I didn’t get the chance to explore as much as I wanted because I was there for an event upstairs (yes!, they also have an event space that is quite charming…indoor/outdoor with soft lighting and a relaxed vibe) but I can guarantee it will be my first stop next time I’m in town.
