This last spring the hubs and I took a day trip up to Point Reyes and Tomales Bay (check it out here). We spent the day exploring the area and on our way passed by several oyster farms where people were basking in the sunshine, shucking oysters and loving life. We weren’t able to enjoy the scene that day but finally made it back this last weekend and it was every bit of fun I thought it would be. We spent the day at Tomales Bay Oyster Company but there are several more in the area with similar set ups. I’m talking picnic tables, on the water, smell of charcoal grills, oysters straight out of the water and picnic grub galore. If you live in San Francisco and are looking for an easy day trip out of the city this is it. We will be back very soon.
By the way, more really interesting information on oyster farming, here. And did you know oysters actually help to clean the water? Really! Check out this article for an interesting quick read.

This little cutie pie and her daddy…she wasn’t down with oysters but showed that watermelon who’s boss

I love Tamales Bay! You’ve reminded me that we should go again, soon. Thanks!
It really is a magical place! Happy Monday!
