Wood Fired Pizza Party

I think a lot of people start their year in January with a renewed sense of doing better, being better, living better. You’ve probably picked up a bit of my efforts this month from my blog posts. I’ve been focused on wellness in a number of ways…eating well, sleeping, working out, making sure to take time to reflect but also dedicating time to be with friends. Moving to a new city is really hard. Not sure if it was harder for me than others but I have been here for two years now and am still constantly working to make it feel like home. Some days it does, others it does not. Part of that is undoubtedly due to the incredible group of friends I have in Seattle. There was seldom a week where a day went by without something social on the calendar. It was quite exhausting but I loved it and I miss it. The last two years I have spent a lot of time missing it but if I’m being honest with myself I know there are a lot of opportunities for fun times and plenty of incredible people surrounding me here in San Francisco as well. I simply need to put myself out there, and up to this point I don’t think I’ve done a great job of doing that. So, in the New Year I am making a conscious effort to embrace the beautiful people and limitless experiences waiting for me here in the Bay Area. First up, pizza making with some of my favorite people. Oh my goodness, if you can have a pizza making party you should! A total blast!!!

Did you know you can usually buy dough from your favorite local pizzeria? A time saver and oh so worth it!

Toppings galore...if I made one more it would have had delicata squash, carmelized onions and dollaps of goat cheese

Hubby's creation: fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, fresh black olives (he made a point of getting the good ones from the olive bar...a guy after my own heart!)

  1. Looks delicious! You guys will have to come over and try out our backyard wood-fired oven next time you’re in Seattle! I can also share tips on building your own. We learned a lot.
