This last weekend the hubs and I headed to the desert to spend some much needed quality time with friends. It was such a nice little break with a hike, some pool time and lots of laughs. Before going I spent some time investigating the food scene, as all good foodies do, and was disappointed to find very little in Palm Desert to get excited about. Luckily the restaurant at our hotel ended up being a real gem with a swanky vibe and a baby artichoke and olives appetizer I could eat every day (more about that spot here). But in my research I did discover that Palm Springs has a nice little foodie movement going on, so on our last day we made the drive to check some stuff out.
Almost all of the recommendations I got were thanks to the GOOP Palm Springs guide. I was able to try the suggested iced coffee at Koffi and can tell you it is just ridiculously yummy, and by the grace of the travel Gods had exactly one hour to grab a bite for dinner before the flight home. Like true old people we were waiting for Workshop Kitchen + Bar to seat us the moment they opened their doors. For a good 20 minutes we were the only people in the restaurant (hence the emptiness in pictures) but the vibe is pretty damn cool even without other diners thanks to the sleek modern concrete booths and long community table with overhead pendants. The food was right up my alley with lots of seasonal goodies to choose from and a standout spring pea dish that led to 23 or more ‘OMG’s said out loud. If you are headed down to the desert for a vacay I highly recommend checking out this spot along with the other fun activities and foodie spots suggested in the GOOP guide.

I said ‘OMG’ at least 23 times while eating the spring pea dish, it was everything I love about fresh food, also the taleggio polenta and goat cheese with lentils
